The WET business vertical specialises in developing large-scale water infrastructure projects. It provides comprehensive solutions for drinking water supply, wastewater and sewage treatment, industrial effluent treatment, desalination and irrigation systems.

The division takes up end-to-end water infrastructure projects - covering design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations & maintenance - with a strong presence across India, Sri Lanka, West Asia and Africa.

With strong technical expertise and a wide project portfolio across India and international locations, L&T WET plays a vital role in ensuring sustainable water management, improving public health and supporting urban and industrial development through reliable and efficient water solutions.

Special Initiatives

  • The business is leveraging its Water Technology Centre to roll out technology-led initiatives, focused on introducing new processes and enhancing existing ones
  • To strengthen its presence in technology-focused markets, the New Business Incubation Cell has been formed to focus on identifying and developing opportunities in untapped segments to support sustainable growth over the long-term
  • To drive productivity, quality and speed of execution, a Fast Construct Cell has been formed to promote the adoption of precast construction technologies across projects
  • Real-time risk monitoring systems are being deployed across project sites, alongside the implementation of control measures and standardised control procedures across risk profiles, to enhance operational excellence and strengthen safety awareness

Facilities

The L&T Water Technology Centre (WTC) is the dedicated R&D and innovation arm of L&T’s Water & Effluent Treatment business, focused on developing reliable, energy-efficient and sustainable water solutions aligned with L&T’s energy, carbon and water neutrality goals.

Equipped with advanced facilities - including analytical, microbiology, process testing, desalination and digital labs - WTC leverages multidisciplinary expertise and global collaboration to deliver efficient, resilient and scalable water solutions.
